Dear Parents,

Your child's circumcision procedure has been successfully completed. After this process, careful and attentive care at home is very important for healthy healing. Below is a summary of the steps you should take starting from the first day:

First Day Care

  • About 1 hour after the circumcision, carefully remove the dressing from your child's penis.
  • Then apply the cream prescribed by your doctor generously to the entire surface of the penis. This cream both speeds up healing and helps prevent infection.
  • On the first day, children may experience pain, discomfort, and crying. This is normal. If there is pain, you can give the pain reliever syrup recommended by the doctor every 4 to 6 hours, in the prescribed dose.
  • A small amount of bleeding is expected on the first day. However, if the bleeding continues unabated or is severe, be sure to consult your doctor.

Subsequent Days

  • Continue applying the cream once a day for seven days. For each application, it is sufficient to apply the cream to the tip and shaft of the penis.
  • During the healing process, bruising, slight redness, or a thin, yellowish or white film may appear on the penis. These are usually a natural part of healing and should not cause concern.
  • It is recommended to dress your child in loose, soft clothing for a few days to allow for comfortable movement.
  • Be careful not to let your child move around too much for the first few days; keep them away from activities that could cause trauma, such as riding a bike, jumping hard, or sliding.

Remember, every child is different, and the healing time may vary.

Get well soon.
